Key Duties of a Sheet Metal Mechanic / Technician:
- Sheet metal technicians are responsible for crafting, constructing, installing, and maintaining sheet metal goods and structures, such as ducts, roofs, and gutters
- Collaborate with a variety of materials, including aluminum, steel, copper, and other metals, to produce items for industries like construction and manufacturing
- Utilizing tools like saws, riveters, and welding equipment, they complete their tasks efficiently
- Ideal candidates for sheet metal technician roles must possess strong problem-solving skills to address any challenges encountered during installation or repair projects.
- Proficiency in blueprint interpretation, welding, and soldering is essential, as is being in good physical shape
Special Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Requires a High School Diploma or GED
- May require lifting, pushing or pulling of objects over 50 pounds
