Job Description

Pipe layer  -  $25.00 Based on Experience
The Pipe Layer will be responsible for installing and repairing underground pipelines, sewer lines, and water mains. The ideal candidate will have experience in laying pipes, operating heavy machinery, and working in a construction environment. 
Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans to determine the layout of pipes and the required materials

  • Install and repair underground pipelines, sewer lines, and water mains

  • Operate heavy machinery, such as excavators and backhoes, to dig trenches and lay pipes

  • Connect pipes using various methods, depending on the material of the pipe

  • Test pipes for leaks and ensure that they are properly aligned and graded

  • Backfill trenches and compact soil to ensure that the pipes are properly supported

  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools

  • Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Proven experience as a Pipe Layer or similar role

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans

  • Knowledge of different types of pipes and their installation methods

  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and operate heavy machinery

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Working Conditions: The Pipe Layer will work outdoors in various weather conditions and may be required to work in confined spaces. The job may require lifting heavy objects and working in awkward positions. The Pipe Layer may also be required to work overtime and weekends, depending on project deadlines.
